Morgan Russell has performed and recorded around the world as a member of the Checkered Cabs,
Soul Element, the Hip Hop Philharmonic, the 8 Ohms Band, Black Masala, Eastern Standard Time,
and local favorites, Party Like It's...
Morgan has also toured nationally and abroad with Boston's Westbound Train
and the legendary Toasters NYC.
As a freelance musician, he regularly plays around DC, MD and VA in a variety of groups and settings.

Morgan studied saxophone performance at Shepherd University where he worked with Scott Silbert and Dale Underwood among others. While at Shepherd, he also honed his flute and clarinet skills in the concert bands and wind ensembles.

From 2004 until its closing in 2014, Morgan established a bustling woodwind studio and repair shop at
Dale Music Co. in Silver Spring, MD.
He regularly presents lively student concerts on Veteran's Plaza and other local venues.  Many of his students have become accomplished performers and have bright careers in music.

Morgan works closely with other educators, schools, and camps in the area and has been a regular instructor at Springbrook High School's Summer Jazz Institute and  Spencerville Adventist Academy.

This year, Morgan continues to build the Russell Woodwinds program
and remains active in the musical community.

Here's a clip of Morgan performing with Eastern Standard Time in Torino Italy.
